Life can be difficult and it is easy to get stuck into habits that do not work anymore and yet this is what you know how to be in the world. Whether it is how you are in relationships or how you treat yourself as a human being, coping through any of life’s transitions can be very stressful. Healing through these experiences can be helped through therapy. Change can happen and having a balance can be very empowering for all of those who want to learn healthier ways to live their lives and create an openness to new possibilities.

As a therapist for people of all ages, I want to work closely with clients to develop a collaborative and respectful relationship. You will find in your work with me a compassionate, supportive, non-judgmental, and empathic listener. We will work together to build a relationship so whatever goals that need to be addressed can be faced with empathy. It is hard to look at yourself and to gain new awareness but having the courage to seek your inner strengths this can provide a key piece to enhance a greater sense of self. I believe that my clients have inside of them the tools to make the changes in their lives they want to make. Everyone has the innate ability to create a nurturing space within to help face their challenges. My work as a therapist, a student advocate, and instructor, I have gained valuable experiences about relationships of all types, and I rely on the learning from these roles to help support my clients in the changes they are hoping to make in their lives.

I have been a therapist for fourteen years and in education for over twenty, so I take pride in supporting teens and young adults. A lot happens during the teenage years and preparing to become an adult means greater responsibility and that can be a struggle. Dealing with issues such as academic pressures, managing emotions like depression, anxiety, anger, and learning how to be in relationships are significant issues that teenagers face. I want to help alleviate these stressors to build ways to cope and to develop a healthy self-esteem.

I have taught parenting classes that emphasized a strength-based model with parents who have teenagers. I also have experience working with individuals, couples, families helping create effective tools to resolve conflicts and to improve communication. I believe everyone has the inherent ability to discover different ways of learning about themselves in relationships and I want to extend my support so you can achieve your goals. I welcome your call at 408.608.7230.
